Living near the marsh is different. The moisture comes from every direction — off the water, up from the ground, out of the trees at night. Mildew grows on siding that doesn’t even face the water. Docks and wood decks rot faster than anywhere else on the Strand. Paint on south-facing walls peels because it’s fighting both the direct sun and the humidity at the same time.
We’ve done a lot of work in Murrells Inlet. Homes near the Marsh Walk, properties back off Hwy 17, fishing cottages on the water. House washing, painting, deck and dock cleaning, driveways. The prep has to be more thorough out here — that’s just the reality of the environment.
If your paint has been failing and you’ve had it redone before with the same result, it’s almost always a prep problem. That’s fixable. Call us and we’ll take a look.
